Asuu update: UNIJOS Votes to continue strike

As the various university chapters of the Academic staff Union of Universities meet this week to delibrate on the five Month old strike, UNIJOS chapter has decided that they want the strike to Continue.
Speaking to journalists, Dr. David Jankam said the chapter did not see any substance in the negotiation the leadership of the union had with President Jonathan. According to Dr. Jankam "We have just rounded off our meeting, as a Matter of fact our members voted overwhelmingly for the continuation of the state strike. "I Can also confirm to you that five of the eight universities that made up the Bauchi Zone of the ASUU has also voted for the continuation of the strike and the general saying is that the government has not shown any commitment so far" .
He further said "I will now convey the resolve of our branch to the National president in Our NEC meeting scheduled for is week. If the majority of the Chapter votes for a call off, it will be a call off but if Majority of the chapter votes for continuity, then so be "it.
