ASUU strike: 20 out of 28 unions vote to return school


Christmas may be coming a little early for students! More units of ASUU including university of Ibadan and Ahmadu Bello university chapters have voted for the suspension of the strike by the union during chapters congresses held nation wide.
So far 20 of the 28 chapters that has concluded their meetings supported the suspension of the strike while the remaining eight preferred that they pressed on with the strike.
Others had conditions like the uniabuja chapter who agreed to the suspension of the strike but asked that their withheld three months salaries be paid. Nasarawa state university had the same condition. They also voiced their fear on victimization of the staffs who took part in the strike.
Universities that supported the suspension of the strike are: the federal university of technology, Owerri; Delta state university; Bayero university, Kano; Imo state university; federal university of agriculture, Abeokuta; Olabisi Onabanjo university; Ahmadu Bello university, Zaria; federal university of technology, Minna; university of Lagos; university of Ibadan; university of Calabar; university of Port Harcourt; federal university of technology, Akure; Usman Dan Fodio university, Sokoto and Ekiti state university.
