N200 Billion Deal: Students set up committee to monitor ASUU


The National Association Pfizer Nigerian Students (NANS) has set up an eighteen member committee to monitor the utilization of the N200 billion naira fund given to universities by the federal government as part of its deal with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
NANS president, Comrade Yinka Gbadebo said the committee was to ensure that there was transparency in the utilization of the fund and to foretell further incidence of industrial action. The task force is to monitor the progress being made and to equally evaluate the extend of implementation of the felt needs of the education sector as identified by the need assessment team, ASUU, Nigerian students and all other stakeholders.
"In this respect, we are inaugurating the NANS taskforce committee on the assessment, monitoring and evaluation of the entire projects and programs for which funds have been mapped out as enshrined in the fresh accord between FG and ASUU" the president stated.
