University of Oxford, is offering five
students
from Angola, Ghana, Libya, Mozambique and
Nigeria fully funded scholarships to study at the
University in partnership with the international
integrated energy company Eni.
Eni Scholarship is a
prestigious award that allow beneficiaries focus on their
studies without worrying about tuition or living
expenses.
This will allow St Antony’s to admit some of the best
African students irrespective of means and will add
immeasurably to the diverse and intellectual character
of the College. This is part of a joint initiative between
Eni & St Antony’s College to invest in and strengthen
African leadership.
Eligibility
The scholarships are open to applicants who are
ordinarily resident in Angola, Ghana, Libya,
Mozambique and Nigeria . Preference will be given
to applicants whose first degree is from an African
university.
The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of
both academic merit and potential and financial
need. Preference will be given to applicants who
have clear ambitions to use their accumulated
learning to benefit their home country after
graduation.
Applicants must also meet the requirements for
entry to their course, including English language
requirements. See the University’s course guide for

Applicants must apply for admission to one of the
following eligible courses:

2. Year MPhil courses
MPhil Development Studies
MPhil Economic & Social History
MPhil Economics
MPhil Modern Middle Eastern Studies

3. Year DPhil course
DPhil International Development
Worth of Scholarship
100% of university and college fees, and an annual
grant for living costs (the rate was £12,900 for 12
month courses and £9,675 for 9 month courses in
2013-14).
The scholarship also covers one economy return
airfare from your home country to the UK at the
start and end of your course.
If your scholarship is offered for a course lasting
more than one year, the continuation of your
scholarship each year is subject to an annual
renewal process based upon satisfactory academic
progress.
How to Apply
In order to be considered for this scholarship, you
must submit your application for graduate study by
14 March 2014 and you must have secured a
conditional or unconditional place on your chosen
programme of study by the expected final decision
date (2 May 2014).
You must also complete an Eni scholarship
application form and email it to the Assistant
College Registrar,
assistant.registrar@sant.ox.ac.uk, by 14 March
2014.
Note: Once a date for the Eni selection committee at St
Antony’s College has been finalised, we will post the
expected final decision date on this website. Decisions
are likely to be made in May 2014.
Deadline: The deadline for the scholarship application is
March 14, 2014. R emember, many courses close for
admission around January 20, 2014 and so you should
ideally have applied by the January deadline.
