ASUU strike latest update- Monday ultimatum: ASUU to dare FG again. vow to continue strike

It was uncertain on Saturday whether the academic staff union of Nigerian universities would call off its five months old strike, despite the federal government Monday ultimatum. There were speculations that the university lecturers will call off the strike after the burial ceremony of an ex-ASUU president, professor Festus Iyayi, who was killed in a motor accident involving the Kogi state governor convoy.
Well, the ASUU chairman of most universities have vowed not to return to the class room under threat. "We didn't go on strike on the government's order. The reasons which we embarked on the strike for have not been met. Those orders from the government are just executive recklessness. We are not returning to work on Monday" the chairman, ASUU, OOU chapter, Dr. Nasir Adesola said.
