Market women appeal to ASUU to suspend strike.

The Market Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), today, Monday 14th, appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to suspend is strike while it continues negotiation with the Federal Government.
Felicia Sani,the National President of the association, made the appeal in Abuja when the women protested against the ongoing strike
Mrs Sani expressed concern over the refusal of ASUU to end the strike; adding that the students were always the losers whenever there was a face off between the government and university lecturers.
"The Federal Government has ordered the release of N130 billion for infrastructural development and payment of allowances to ASUU members but the lecturers insist on continuing the strike,"she said."The union ought to have suspended the strike immediately President Goodluck Jonathan waded into the crisis and ordered the release of N130 billion".
Mrs Sani stressed the need for ASUU to understand the implications of the strike on the future of the business.
"The students spend so much time before graduating; the spend Thierry time on other things instead of concentrating on their studies.This make some of them to lose focus,"she said.
She advised politicians to avoid politicising the ASUU strike in a plot to promote Thier selfish interests, stressing that the concerted efforts of all the citizens were required to solve the crisis.
Mrs Sani urged ASUU to be honest in it's dealings with the government,advising it to always look on beyond its members salary and allowances before embarking on strike.
